家畜排せつ物の堆肥化処理過程からは悪臭の他、N2O等の温室効果ガスが発生しており、抑制技術を開発する必要あります。堆肥化過程においては亜硝酸が蓄積するとN2Oが多く発生することから、硝化細菌の亜硝酸酸化細菌を含む完熟堆肥を追加することで、N2O発生量が低減できることを見いだしました。今後も現場に取り入れやすい方法を使って環境負荷の少ない家畜排せつ物処理技術開発に取り組んでいきます。
