Shushi NAGAHATA is an associate professor at Yokohama City University School of Economics and Business Administration in Japan. He finished the course work for a doctoral degree at Keio University Graduate School of Law in 2008 and took a position as a lecturer at Aomori Chuo Gakuin University in northern Japan. In 2012, he moved to Yokohama City University.

Professor Nagahata's specialty is business law, mainly corporate law.
Primarily, he has researched internal control as corporate governance. Furthermore, he is also exploring statistical analysis for internal control problems with his colleagues in Economics and Data Science.

He was visiting professor at The University of British Columbia, The Peter A. Allard School of Law Centre for Asian Legal Studies during his sabbatical. He researched the Benefit Corporation (Company) statute of the British Columbia Business Corporation Act and introduced the Canadian situation to Japan.
