Profile

Fumi obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. in functional neurosurgery from Kyushu University, Japan. He then learned how to perform local field potential recording in movement disorder disease patients, and neural dynamics analysis, at the Institute of Neurology, London, and the University of Oxford, UK. He then headed to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study new scientific and clinical optogenetics applications. Fumi is currently working on strategies for Brain Machine Interface to treat neuropsychiatric diseases.
