2018年10月 - 現在天文学の他にも、歴史学・人文学・計算科学の研究者とタッグを組んで、世界各地の古典籍に記録された天文学/気象学的な出来事を調べる研究も行っています。研究グループの名前は"SPinACH (SPecialists in Astronomy, Classics, and History)"です。「100年以上前に記録された天文学/気象学的な出来事」「100年以上にわたる天文学的な出来事や気象記録の長期的な傾向」を用いて、天文学的調査（過去の太陽活動・彗星・超新星）や歴史学的調査（歴史年代・記述の解釈）に迫ることを目的としています。 興味がある方は研究グループのウェブサイトもご覧ください。 https://sites.google.com/view/spinach-group/jp
