It aims to clarify the influence of high electric field on lithium ion battery and to contribute to the establishment of appropriate use of it. In this study, a lithium ion battery is installed in the vicinity of a spherical electrode (diameter 100 mm) kept at a direct current 10 kV (plus or minus) and the presence or absence of a voltage change of the lithium ion battery. It is presumed that the voltage of the battery changes because corona discharge causes charge transfer in the gap and a chemical reaction of the lithium ion battery occurs.
