Trained as a translator/interpreter, I taught in French and UK universities. In mid-career I added Cognitive Science and Natural Language Processing. From 2001-2011 Director of the graduate Centre for Translation Studies, Leeds UK, with significant grant capture from UK and EU funding bodies. Lead or co-investigator in numerous international research projects with academic and industrial partners.
Now enjoy playing veterans rugby with Tokyo Fuwaku club.
