1981年農業機械分野でケニア国ジョモケニヤッタ農工大学プロジェクトに協力隊員として参加。ミシガン州立大学博士課程（農業技術システムマネジメント専攻）修了。技術協力専門家、ＪＩＣＡ筑波の研修指導員を経て1995年からＪＩＣＡ国際協力専門員。長期派遣国はケニア、フィリピン、カンボジア、ウガンダ。2015年1月にウガンダのコメ振興プロジェクトから帰国し、同年4月から現職。
