Carmen Sǎpunaru Tămaș (Odobești 1979), Romanian anthropologist. After obtaining my PhD from Osaka University in 2009, I have been teaching Japanese mythology and anthropology at Osaka University, Kobe University, and the University of Hyogo. I am the author of a textbook of Japanese mythology (Osaka University 2012) and of several academic papers in Japanese and English, on topics related to the mythology and ethnology of Japan. I am currently interested in Japanese matsuri, particularly the creation and dynamics of festival-related communities.
