本研究において演者らは、アンチモンおよびヒ素の表層環境での挙動について主に化学種決定に着目することで研究を進めた。X線分析法の1つであるXAFS法を駆使して、元素の価数やホスト相を直接的に決定し、環境中でのアンチモンやヒ素の溶解、沈殿、拡散反応を支配する要因を解明した。
