Hello my name is Ross. I am an ELI teacher at Kanda University of International Studies. I first started teaching in Japan in private institutions after which I taught aboard a cruise ship for 3 months. After Japan I taught in South Korea for a year before taking on a role of TESOL certification course instructor. I then returned to Scotland my home country and completed my masters degree in TESOL in 2016. After my masters degree I briefly taught in public schools in rural Thailand before returning to Japan to begin teaching at Kanda University where I currently work.
My research interests include; learner identity, learner autonomy, action research and vocabulary. I think teaching is a very noble pursuit and teachers should collaborate and share ideas as much as possible.
Thank you.
