My current research focus is on refugee and forced migration phenomena and related policy processes mainly in Asia. At the same time, I always keep keen eyes on the development of refugee law and policy in various parts of the world. Before teaching in universities in the UK and Japan, I used to work as a practitioner for the Government of Japan, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in various parts of the world. I hope pursue research, education and policy proposals, taking advantage of my academic training and practical experience.
