糖尿病の病態解明・治療戦略樹立へ向けた基礎研究に従事している。膵β細胞に関する研究および生体内におけるインスリン抵抗性に関する研究として、細胞外弾性線維と膵β細胞機能、インスリン抵抗性および全身性の代謝調節との関与について検討を進めている。
