1983年京都大学大学院工学研究科博士課程修了。工学博士。岐阜大学（教育学部）、同志社大学（工学部）、大阪大学（基礎工学研究科）、京都大学（情報学研究科）を経て、2021年より大阪成蹊大学、2023年より同学長・データサイエンス学部教授兼務。専門は応用数学、とりわけ、可積分系や計算数学。国際特許3件，国内特許4件。主著に「可積分系の機能数理」（共立出版、2006年）、「可積分系の数理」（共著、朝倉書店、2018年）がある。日本応用数理学会フェロー、日本数学会、情報処理学会会員。
