Oct, 2011 - Oct, 2011キラル物質は、電磁波の偏波面を回転させる特性を有しており、入射した直線偏波の電磁波はキラル物質内で左・右旋回の二つの円偏波に分離されて再放射される。この効果により、構造体内に分散したキラル物質が電磁波を吸収・散乱しながら熱エネルギーに変換させる。本研究の目的は、カーボンナノチューブのナノキラル構造に着目し、異なる3つの学問 (材料強度学・電気化学・材料科学工学) を専門とする3名の研究者が研究グループを構成することで、MWCNT を用いた新しい電磁波吸収材料を創製することである。
