My research centres on Hindi literature during the Mughal period, analysing the formation and transmission of literary traditions in Awadhi and Braj Bhasha—the earliest literary languages of Hindi—through philological methods. Specifically, I study manuscripts of prosodic treatises and investigate the formation and development of Hindi prosody from philological and metrical perspectives.

I also specialise in Hindi Bhakti literature. Through the works of Bhakti poets such as Surdas and Tulsidas, I examine the development of literary traditions, hagiography, and Hindu Bhakti thought in North India.

Additionally, I translate Hindi literature, introduce primary source materials, and develop and make available digital research resources.
