I have dedicated most of my academic formation to study biodiversity and evolution, with the aim of understanding the mechanism by which biodiversity originates since an ecological and evolutionary perspective. This objective has brought me to explore multiple fields of biological sciences (i.e., ecology, taxonomy, phylogenetics, bioinformatics, and genomics) and to work in a variety of model systems (i.e., tropical forest, coral reefs, rivers, and ancient lakes) as demonstrated in my publication records. I consider that my research experience has offered me a broad view of biological sciences and challenge me to develop a unique set of skills. The above has allowed me to pursue ambitious research project successfully with a multidisciplinary approach.
