チェリー ジョナサン

Jonathan Cherry is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of International Communication at Musashino Gakuin University in Saitama, Japan. He first came to Asia in 1997 to study at the Xi'an Foreign Language Institute in Shaanxi, China, where he developed a strong interest in Chinese language and culture. After returning to the UK, he pursued Chinese and Management Studies at the University of Durham, where he earned an Honours degree. He then went back to China to teach English in Shanghai, before moving to Tokyo in 2006, where he has been based since. He is conversational in both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese, which allows him to engage with a wide range of cultural contexts in his work.His research focuses on mental health issues among students, particularly anxiety, stress, and self-esteem. He also looks into the wellbeing of international students and how they adapt to their new academic and cultural environments.
