Yi-Yang Hsiao (Levana Hsiao) is from Taiwan. She now belongs to the Department of Legal Medicine at the University of Tsukuba (UT) in Japan and is also a graduate student in the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences at UT. Levana’s recent work focuses specifically on the analysis of carbon monoxide(CO)/carboxyhemoglobin,  carbon dioxide, and volatile organic compounds in post-mortem tissues from blood-loss cadavers. 

Levana’s research “The application of CO analysis in post-mortem inner organs tissues to determine the cause of death using BID-GC. (Japanese)” won the Best Presentation Award at The 35th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Clinical Toxicology, East Japan Branch. Love for tea.
