My specialty is phonetics. I'm also involved deeply in the design and implementation of Japanese corpora, both spoken and written, ever since 1999 when I started compiling the Corpus of Spontaneous Japanese. My recent papers in phonetics deal with the issues of phonetic variations and prosodic characteristics of spontaneous Japanese.
