Short Biography
Katsutoshi Miura, M.D., Ph.D. (1984, Pathology, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan). Dr. Miura is currently Professor of the Health Science at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. He was born in Shizuoka near Mt Fuji in Japan in 1955. He graduated Hamamatsu University School of Medicine to get M.D. in 1980 and proceeded to postdoctorial course in Pathology to obtain Ph. D in 1984. Since then, he worked as Associated Professor in Pathology, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine (1984-1992). He went to the United States as Visiting Scientist at the Arthritis Center, Boston University (Director: Alan S. Cohen, M.D.): on leave of absence under traveling award from Japanese Ministry of Education (1987-1989). From 1993 to 1994, he worked as Hospital pathologist, Shizuoka General Hospital, Shizuoka, Japan. Then, he became Assistant professor of Pathology, University Hospital, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine (1994-2006) and was promoted to Professor of Health Science, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan (2006-present). He is a member of Japanese Pathological Society, Japanese Society of Cytology, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, American Society for Investigative Pathology and Europian Society of Pathology. He is now an editorial board member of Scientific Reports (NPG, London).
