I am an anthropologist specializing in Asia–Africa interactions and the political economy of the Global South. My research examines how the movement of people, capital, and commodities reshapes social relations, labor practices, and economic opportunities across Africa and Asia.

Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork in Southern Africa, I investigate three interconnected themes: (1) Africa–Asia mobility and migrant entrepreneurship, (2) labor relations and human resource management in Asian foreign direct investment (FDI) in Africa, and (3) the moral and economic dimensions of counterfeit consumption. My work seeks to understand how ordinary people navigate and negotiate global inequalities through everyday economic practices.
