I am currently employed as an Assistant Professor at a medical university located in Kyoto, with my core responsibilities revolving around academia and research. Alongside this role, I also serve as a Paramedic, working part-time in the emergency department of a hospital. My primary area of research is Forensic Medicine, with a significant focus on the epidemiological study of suicides.

I hold degrees in Risk and Crisis Management, which demonstrates a cross-disciplinary proficiency in handling crisis scenarios. My studies on suicide epidemiology not only pertain to the domain of Forensic Medicine but also closely relate to emergency medicine and neuropsychiatry, portraying an integrated public health theme. I view the issue of suicide as a global public health crisis and have dedicated my life’s work to understanding it objectively from both forensic and crisis management perspectives.

In addition to my clinical and academic endeavors, I serve part-time as a national civil servant in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. I am also actively engaged in humanitarian outreach and community service through Médecins Sans Frontières and the Boy Scouts, promoting awareness and engagement in humanitarian efforts. My life is encapsulated by the theme of “Crisis Management,” aiming to contribute to public health from a broad spectrum of perspectives.
