A search for new isotopes in the neutron-rich rare-earth region has been carried out using a 345 MeV/nucleon U-238 beam at the RIKEN Nishina Center RI Beam Factory. Fragments produced were analyzed and identified using the BigRIPS in-flight separator. We observed a total of 29 new neutron-rich isotopes: Ba-153, La-154,La-155,La-156, Ce-156,Ce-157,Ce-158, Pr-156,Pr-157,Pr-158,Pr-159,Pr-160,Pr-161, Nd-162,Nd-163, Pm-164,Pm-165, Sm-166,Sm-167, Eu-169, Gd-171, Tb-173,Tb-174, Dy-175,Dy-176, Ho-177,Ho-178, and Er-179,Er-180.
