ヨーロッパ初期中世美術、キリスト教美術を研究しています。
学位論文では、カロリング朝期の彩飾写本の装飾頭文字（イニシアル）に図像が取り込まれていく過程を研究しました。
最近は、9~10世紀ドイツの彩飾写本の装飾イニシアルの様式分析に主眼を於いて研究を続けています。
