Prof. Takashi Koga's research interests includes legal and policy issues on access to government information, issues on academic librarianship (e.g. open access, information literacy), and collaboration of museums, libraries and archives. He has published around 90 articles and over 10 books in the fields of library science, archival science and records management both in Japanese and in English. He also has teaching experiences in these fields at several universities in Japan.
Prof. Koga was promoted to Full Professor at Tenri University in Apr. 2017. Before accepting his current position (as Associate Professor) in Apr. 2012, Prof. Koga had been the first full time member of the Research and Development Laboratory (R & D Lab), Kyoto University Library from Jan. 2009 to Mar. 2012.
Prof. Koga has served as the Chief Executive Board Member, Japan Art Documentation Society (JADS) since June 2017. He also served as a Standing Committee member for the Government Information and Official Publications Section (GIOPS) of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) from 2007 to 2015.
