カマイルカは春に津軽海峡に来遊し、一年のうちで4月、5月に最も多く観察される。本研究では2003年5月から2007年8月までのフェリーからの鯨類目視調査記録を分析し、津軽海峡のカマイルカの来遊時期の経年変化を検討した。カマイルカの来遊時期は2003年から2007年まで年々早くなっていた。カマイルカの来遊時期に影響を及ぼすと考えられる、津軽海峡の水温や、餌となるカタクチイワシの来遊時期を検討した結果、これらはカマイルカの来遊時期と関係が示唆され、従来の研究結果を支持した。

津軽海峡の鯨類に関する知見は極めて乏しい。本研究では津軽海峡の鯨類の鯨種,それらの出現頻度を明らかにするため,2003 年 4 月から 2004 年 11 月まで函館・青森間を運行するフェリーからの目視調査を実施した。58 日 6,102 km の目視調査により,合計 415 群 3,010 個体の鯨類の発見があった。発見はカマイルカが優占し,マイルカ,イシイルカ,ハンドウイルカ,ネズミイルカ,コビレゴンドウ等が発見された。カマイルカの来遊のピークは 5〜6 月の年一回であった。

魚類の成長には大きな個体差があるが、資源管理モデルでは一般に考慮されていない。そのため、漁獲の体長選択性を通じて、成長個体差が管理効果に与える偏りが懸念される。本研究ではシミュレーションにより、成長個体差がYPR解析や%SPR解析結果に与える偏りについて評価した。その結果、個体差が大きくなるにつれ、YPRは過小評価、SPRは過大評価される傾向があり、成長の個体差を考慮した解析の必要性が示唆された。 (TM)
