Research Interest:
My research interests include nonlinear functional analysis, partial differential equations and numerical analysis, related to the nonlinear theory of evolution equations and semigroups of operators, and applications to initial-boundary-value problems of diffusion and conservation laws.
Among my technical contributions are the development of generation, convergent and approximation theory of nonlinear semigroups of nonexpansive mappings on closed subsets of a general Banach space. More applied contributions include the existence, representation and numerical approximation theory of solutions for initial value problems for single conservation laws and for porous medium equations. Recently, I have introduced and initiated the theory of semigroups of Lipschitz operators and the applications to quasi-linear wave equations.
Degrees:
B. Sci. (Mathematics), Waseda University, 1970. M. Sci. (Mathematics), Waseda University, 1972. D. Sci. (Mathematics), Waseda University, 1976.
Professional Activity:
The Mathematical Society of Japan, Member. Advances in Mathematical Sciences and Applications, Editor.
