In order to develop smart electrocardiogram (ECG) textile, we proposed a novel dry electrode structure. The dry electrode was dimethylpolysiloxane (PDMS) cube on which Ag-plated fiber was flocked by electrostatic flocking technology. Also, the ECG amplifier circuit was embedded inside the PDMS cube. The good contact pressure between dry electrode and skin is significant for ECG measuring using a dry electrode. The structure enabled stable contact pressure. Additionally, reduction of wiring noise was expected because ECG signal can be amplified near the dry electrode. Because electrical devices such as MEMS sensor, battery, MCU and RE -1C can also be embedded inside the cubic dry electrode using this electrode structure, development of highly functional and flexible vital signs monitoring device can be realized.
