Atsuko Goshima is Professor at Nanzan University in Japan. She received her Ph.D. in Education from the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at Nagoya University. She worked as a visiting researcher at the School of Education, the University of Wisconsin-Madison(2017/03-2017/12), and at the Graduate School of Education, the University of Tokyo(2018/01-2018/09).

  She is concerned with the educational disparities brought about by globalization and the social movements that seek to change society. Her scholarship focuses on helping colleges and universities build productive relationships with external communities including state policymakers, business partners, and alumni. In pursuing this agenda, her research field extends to various areas covering state-university relations, community engagement, and continuing higher education.

  Her recent studies include historical inquiries on comparative studies of university-community partnerships between the United States and Japan.
