Aleksei Konoplev graduated Moscow State University in 1977. He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and holds a Degree of Doctor of Science in Radiation Biology. He has been working in the field of environmental chemistry for 39 years. Starting from May 1986 he was involved in laboratory and field studies of the behavior of Chernobyl- and Fukushima-derived radionuclides in the environment and prediction of their post-accident dispersal.
