Practical work in arts and crafts education has its significance not in finished work but in the cycle of trial，failure，and discovery through the creative process. This study，by reviewing the difference of activities between cutting with scissors and tearing up as well as the effects of their shapes，clarifies how handwork is effective in arts and crafts education in the process of making a collage.
