我々は画像認識技術を応用した写真による昆虫判別技術の開発に取り組んでいる。今回,判別する対象として,コクゾウムシ,ノシメマダラメイガ,コクヌストモドキ,タバコシバンムシの4種の貯穀害虫について,輪郭情報を基に判別するプログラムを開発した。この判別システムの改良を図るために,食品害虫サイトに試験運用ページを公開し,現技術の問題点の抽出を行っている。

精米工程の異なる無洗米,白米,玄米について,コクゾウムシの選択性および産卵選好性を閉鎖系の試験で調べたところ,加害リスクは共に玄米>白米>無洗米の順であった。本試験の結果から,コクゾウムシの加害リスクは無洗米が最も低いことが明らかとなった。
