I study the relationship between pronunciation features and intelligibility among users of English as a Lingua Franca. I have steadily moved away from qualitative research to quantitative research to find answers to my research questions. The end goal of all of my research is to write a book on the pronunciation features that matter most to intelligibility when Japanese L2 speakers of English communicate with other L2 speakers.
