First record of Aphis hypochoeridis (Hemiptera, Aphididae) from Hokkaido, Japan, with notes on attending ants

Aphis (Aphis) hypochoeridis (Börner, 1940) is native to Europe, and has been introduced to Honshu and Kyusyu Islands in Japan. The present study recorded this species for the first time from Hokkaido Island, Japan. Ant species attending the aphid colonies were identified as Lasius flavus, L. japonicus, Nylanderia flavipes, and Tetramorium tsushimae.
