シェイ ジョン ダニエル

I am originally from New York City, but have lived in Japan since 2006. My background is in Computer Science and Engineering, where I worked in various roles as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, and Consultant for Bellcore, Princeton University, and various Financial organizations for 16 years before returning to school to study Bioinformatics and Agriculture (Plant Breeding / Genetics).

My research interests are in the study of how future climate will affect agricultural production, and how to better prepare for these challenges in order to mitigate the effects of anthropogenic climate change on agricultural production. I am also interested in the novel application of bioinformatic methods in plant breeding and genetics and the education of the next generation of scientists.
