* Rikkyo Uiversity’s Center for Foreign Language Education and Research. In addition to teaching and research roles, duties included: serving on department committees (university-wide elective English course committee and research/journal committee), designing new course curriculum for new CLIL courses in Peace and Conflict Studies, invited by Member of New Electives committee to design and teach new CLIL courses in International Relations and SDGs, desiged teacher-support resources for teaching CLIL course in International Relations.

* Rikkyo Uiversity’s Center for English Discussion Class. In addition to teaching and research roles, duties included: delivering teacher training for new teachers and providing a video of exemplary teaching for teaching training. 

* the Department of Global Innovation Studies, Faculty of Global and Regional Studies, Toyo University. Duties included: teaching in and/or designing several academic programs (the Academic English Program which included test preparation, the Global Leaderahip and Internship courses, managing the Department's stand-alone SALC - Self Access Learning Center to improve student’s English)

* the University of Sydney (several departments: the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies where I also co-redesigned two older courses in response to: student feedback, the need to have unique course offerings not available in other courses at the University, and more effectively link theory to practice; the Human Rights program in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy; and the Department of History)

* the Academic English Bridging Program at the Academy of Information Technology Sydney (a university-level instition) 

* several programs at the Greenwich English College Sydney and Melbourne (General English Program, Japanese Students’ English Pronunciation Program, and the Government-licensed TESOL - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages - English Teacher Training Program where I was as a trainer for trainee TESOL teachers)

Current research projects include developing a meta-methodology for English language learning and teaching at the university-level using simulations (active learning, student-centred advanced role-play exercises that can be used as course capstones) around global issues.

Academic Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Human Rights Practice (Oxford University) and the Journal of Peace, Development & Communication (Peace and Development Foundation). Former Academic Peer Reviewer and Committee Member for the Journal of Foreign Language Education & Research (Rikkyo University) and Journal of Multilingual Pedagogy & Practice (Rikkyo University). He was also an Academic Peer Reviewer for the edited books: "Regional Ecological Challenges for Peace in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific" (2016, Springer) and "Addressing Global Environmental Challenges from a Peace Ecology Perspective" (2016, Springer).

Recipient of the Isaac Roet Prize for Fostering World Peace Through a Better Distribution of World Resources, presented by the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Amsterdam and Economists for Peace and Security, for his research on peacebuilding in Israel-Palestine.

Provides evidence-based policy advice based on my research and teaching areas to current and former Members of Parliament; government cabinet ministers and senior diplomats; government intelligence agencies; government research agencies focused on national security and international relations; major political parties; and NGOs (usually called "NPOs" in Japan) and community representative groups.

Frequently invited to write in the mainstream and independent news media on his research and is a practitioner of peace journalism. Has published media pieces in media outlets in nine countries (for more information see media coverage here: https://researchmap.jp/g0000217098/media_coverage)
