© 2019 IEEE. Sports analytics aims to provide a competitive advantage to a team or individual in sports by analyzing a collection of relevant statistics. Better strategies in play can be formulated using the information. The core technology necessary for the analysis is the player detection and tracking. Due to limitation of fixed cameras, this work presents a court detection using markers, player detection and tracking using a drone. The method presented is based on perspective transformation, template matching and particle filters. In this work, we can visualize the movement trajectory of a player and extract the real world (on court) player position irrespective of drone height and position.
