The small group-learning environment presents the opportunity for students to use vocabulary in context, promotes negotiating of meaning, lowers inhibitions, and encourages risk taking and spontaneous production of language. It has also fostered friendships between students of the college and visiting students from the Royal Academy University of Gent (Belgium), and the Valand Art Academy of Göteborg University (Sweden).
