松岡 東香

Dr. Matsuoka was born on January 14, 1971, in Niigata, Japan.
He graduated from Nihon University, Tokyo, receiving Bachelor and Masters degrees in Science in 1995 and 1997, respectively. Continuing his studies at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (National Institute of Polar Research, Tokyo), he received a Ph.D. in Science in 2004.

He began his academic career at Nihon University (Tokyo, Japan), where he served as an assistant in the Department of Geosystem Sciences at the College of Humanities and Sciences from 1998 to 2001. He then worked as a research assistant in the Division of Solid Earth Geophysics at the National Institute of Polar Research (Tokyo) from 2001 to 2003.

From 2004 to 2005, he was a research fellow (lecturer) in the College of Engineering at Osaka Electro-Communication University (Neyagawa, Japan). He subsequently joined the Computer Center at Gakushuin University (Tokyo), serving first as a research associate from 2005 to 2006 and then as an assistant professor from 2007 to 2008.

He moved to Tsukuba Gakuin University (Tsukuba, Japan) in 2008, where he served as a lecturer in the Faculty of Information & Communication until 2012. He was appointed associate professor in the Department of Business and Informatics in 2013 and promoted to full professor in 2018, continuing in this role until 2021. During this period, he also held concurrent part-time lectureships at the School of Commerce, Senshu University (Tokyo) beginning in 2008, and at the School of Social Information Studies, Otsuma Women’s University (Tokyo) beginning in 2010. He has additionally served as a part-time lecturer at the Computer Center of Gakushuin University since 2016.

In April 2021, he was appointed Professor in the Faculty of Law at Seiwa University, a position he held until March 2024. He concurrently served as the founding Director of the Information Center at Seiwa University from April 2022 to March 2024, while continuing his part-time lectureship at the Computer Center of Gakushuin University from April 2021 to the present.

In April 2024, he joined Josai International University (Chiba, Japan) as a Professor in the Faculty of Media Studies, where he currently serves.
