Hendrik Segah is an Assistant Professor at Center for Sustainability Science (CENSUS), Hokkaido University since 2010. He got his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in field of Environmental Resources (Remote Sensing) from Graduate School of Agriculture, Hokkaido University (Japan) in 2006. Prior his assignments in Hokkaido University, he also works for University of Palangka Raya since 1996 and joined WWF-Indonesia as Heart of Borneo (HoB) Program Coordinator in Central Kalimantan during the period 2006-2010.

He got special advance trainings and awarded “a Certificate of Proficiency in Conservation of Biodiversity” from Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) in 2007, furthermore in field of Forest Certification from University of Agricultural Science, Stockholm (Sweden) and Stellenbosch University (South Africa) in 2008.

He has been carried out researches and projects collaborations on climate change networks and tropical peatland management, especially to arrange and coordinate the Asia Forum on Carbon Update with his colleagues at DNPI (Indonesian, National Council of Climate Change). He is the member of Boreal Forest Society and International Peat Society (IPS), also an author and active reviewer for some published journals such as International Journal of Remote Sensing (IJRS).
