<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>We developed an oxidative synthetic method for α‐nitroketones from α‐substituted malononitriles and nitromethane under molecular oxygen. Only base and molecular oxygen are necessary without condensation reagents; this is an environmentally benign synthesis.</jats:p>
