I have been teaching English to Japanese learners of various ages and proficiency levels for the past 20 years. My research interests include the effective use of the target language by non-native teachers and the qualitative exploration of teachers' professional development. I am also interested in bridging the gap between the English found in textbooks and the English used in the real world.
