We observed the fluid flow induced by traveling wave micropumps using micro particle image velocimetry (micro PIV) system. From the comparison between the observed and calculated results, it was confirmed that the energy conversion efficiency can be estimated from experimental and numerical results in order to optimize the structure of the traveling wave micropump.
