In my phD, I worked on mechanism of phototransduction in fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. In UK, I studied on neuronal differentiation of zebrafish pineal eye and mechanism underlying forebrain patterning. After I returned to Japan, I have investigated neurogenesis, cell differentiation and cell death in zebrafish retinas. Recently, I also started research on lens development using zebrafish.
