ラハマン イスマイル

Dr. Ismail Rahman is a Professor at the Institute of Environmental Radioactivity at Fukushima University, Japan. His research focuses on the behavior and fate of environmental pollutants, the development of eco-friendly technologies for environmental remediation and sustainable waste management, and the study of organic liquid mixtures for process engineering applications. Throughout his career, he has published under the name Ismail Md. Mofizur Rahman, Ismail M. M. Rahman, or Ismail Rahman.

Dr. Rahman's academic foundation was built at the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh, where he earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry. He began his professional journey in management at Coats Bangladesh Ltd. (2001–2002) before transitioning to academia as a Lecturer at the University of Chittagong in October 2002. He was a TokyoTech-UNESCO Research Fellow at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (2004–2005), where he also obtained a Diploma in Environment. He later earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from Kanazawa University in Japan in 2011.

After beginning as a Lecturer, Dr. Rahman advanced through the ranks at the University of Chittagong to become a Professor, serving in the Department of Chemistry until March 2012 and then in the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering until September 2015, when he took voluntary retirement. His career in Japan began with a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Kanazawa University (2012–2014), followed by appointments as a Visiting Research Professor and later an honorary Collaborative Professor, a position he has held since March 2015. In October 2015, he joined Fukushima University as an Associate Professor and was promoted to his current role of Professor in April 2024.
