This paper describes the velocity profile measurement in boiling two-phase flow using pulse ultrasound. The high temperature transducer, which has an allowable temperature limit of 120℃, was developed, and the applicability to boiling two-phase flow under the atmospheric pressure was confirmed. In addition, for measurements of the velocity profiles, a Plexiglas wedge was used to incline the ultrasonic beam path in fluid. The intensity of the ultrasonic transmission through the wedge and the radiation angle were clarified by measuring the sound field, and the optimal angle of the wedge was found. In the boiling two-phase flow under the atmospheric pressure, the velocity profiles of vapor bubbles generated by a cartridge heater were measured by the ultrasonic Doppler method, and the possibility of the ultrasonic velocity profile measurement in boiling two-phase flow was confirmed.
