My major motivation is to help to conserve biodiversity and ecosystem function into the future. The world’s biodiversity is under unprecedented pressure from habitat loss and climate change of a magnitude that has not occurred for millennia. My current focus is to improve predictions of the impacts of environmental change on forest biomes by undertaking multidisciplinary research integrating information from genetics, ecology, paleobotany and species distribution modelling.
