She learned Evolutionary Biology at University of Tsukuba in BSc and started a study about Genomic Anthropology at the University of Tokyo in MSc. She received Ph.D. at Kitasato University with a focus on demographic history in East Asia based on population-specific variants at two alcohol metabolism-related genes and a Moyamoya disease susceptibility gene; ADH1B, ALDH2, and RNF213. Her Ph.D. was supported by Grant-in-Aid for Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Research Fellow and a project research grant for graduate students of Kitasato University School of Medical Sciences. She was awarded a Dean's prize for Ph.D. thesis. As a postdoctoral researcher, she joined Department of Human Biology and Anatomy, Graduate School of Medicine, University of the Ryukyus from Apr 2017 to Jan 2019 and trained on experimental and analytical methods of human whole-genomic researches. Her project at University of the Ryukyus is partly supported by JSPS KAKENHI for Early-Career Scientists.
