Since its first framework proposed by James Pustejovsky (1991), the GENERATIVE LEXICON (GL) theory has become one of the most influential linguistic semantic theories. Subsequent developments have also been presented from linguistic, philosophical, and computational perspectives. In this first Workshop on The Generative Lexicon for Asian Languages (GLAL), we would like to bring together diverse contributions to explore the generative approaches to the lexicon, and put more focus on the implications for Asian languages.
