Fung, Wan Yin Kimberly is a doctoral student at the Graduate School of Social Sciences, Hitotsubashi University. She is currently conducting multi-sited ethnographic research in the Ashio-Watarase River region in Japan. Her research project aims to understand the aftermath of the Ashio Copper Mine Poisoning Incident, with a focus on the temporalities and topologies of ruination and recovery. Her research interests include the politics of pollution and environmental regeneration, social movements and activism, multispecies ethnography, as well as spatial theories of social landscape and social topology.
